Jessica Tang


Jessica Tang  is a junior at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.  As Junior Class Secretary she has headed many events such as raising money for flood victims in Central America and organizing the Pep Rally.  She is also the Sports Editor of the newspaper, JV Academic Team Captain, and 3-year member of the Student Council. She has competed on the Varsity tennis and track teams since her freshman year, holds the school record for the long jump, and added Varsity cheerleading as a sophomore.  In addition, she is a Concert Choir member, assistant Dance Club instructor, and an active member of the Junior Statesmen of America and Asian Culture Club.  She is involved in many community service activities including volunteering at the American Red Cross and the Somerset Medical Center. At the 4-H Chinese School she is President of the Student Council, after being Secretary for two years. As the1997-98 CACA Teen Club president, she helped organize many social events as well as community service activities including registering voters and fund raising for the American Cancer Society. Despite her dedication to so many activities, she has also found time to compete academically, which is reflected in her 98th percentile rank. Julia Fu


As a Senior at John P. Stevens High School, Julia Fu,  has devoted much of her time to her school and community.  Julia has challenged herself by selecting a competitive college curriculum and is in the top 5% of her class.  She has been the 1st singles player of the Varsity Tennis Team since her sophomore year and was elected Captain.  Julia was also elected President of French Honor Society with 90% of the vote, Secretary of the National Honor Society and Secretary of the Social Studies Forum.  In addition, she plays in the band, is a staff writer for the school newspaper, sings in the Chamber and Acapella choirs, and is a member of Model United Nations.  Julia has dedicated time to the community as well as the Head of Community Service for her school’s Social Studies Forum and has volunteered 120+ hours at the Children’s Specialized Hospital.  Outside of school, she has attended Chinese School for the past 14 years and has taken Chinese Folk Dance lessons for the past 13 years.  Julia has taught Chinese Folk Dance at Union Chinese School for three years and her accomplishments as a dance teacher were recognized when she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 97.  Currently, Julia is working as an intern at an accounting firm.  She is thankful for all her experiences and hopes to utilize them in a successful business career in the future.
